(MIAMI, Dec. 18, 2014) – On Dec. 13, 2014, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Junior Cadets participated in its first regional Firematics Competition held in Clermont, FL where they won first place in the Barrel Push event.

This competition consisted of six fire related events in which cadets simulated common firefighting activities and completed them successfully in the least amount of time.

The Florida State Firefighter's Association holds the Firematics Competition regionally several times a year throughout Florida. Teams can then become eligible to participate in the State Championship Firematics Competition by attending at least six regional competitions and placing in first, second or third in any of the events.
